Love you all, praying for you.
God reminding me of some truths. What is your most precious possession? The thing you own that means the most to you - that you value the most? For some it’s the house they finally get to live in. For others it’s the car they've always wanted to drive – maybe the first nice car they’ve ever owned, or that ’57 Corvette they finally have that they have always dreamed of. For others – they are far more practical. Dry Shampoo – that’s my most precious possession. Stretch pants… what could be more valuable than that? So what about you? What is your most precious possession? Did you know that God says something about that? What does God say is your most precious possession? Surely my wife, or my husband… - no that’s not your possession – that’s your partner. Then my kids – those precious little darlings… No, that’s not your possession – they are just your charge. Like a foster placement – who you won’t have forever – your job is to train them up in the way they should go – to show them what obeying God each day looks like. So their real father, their Heavenly Father – can take them from there. So what does God say is your most precious possession? Proverbs 12:27 - … but the precious possession of a man is diligence. That begs the question – diligent in what? Praying that when you are done listening to this Daily Huddle – you will click the PRISM Topic – Diligent – it is God’s Word and instruction regarding this precious possession. First things first – The precious possession of a man – is not male or female. Man does not live by bread alone – but by every word that preceedeth from the mouth of God. This man – is mankind – male and female created He them… It applies to everybody. Don’t ever let the devil sidetrack you from God’s truth – through red herrings of misguided offense. Second thing you need to know – there are two parts of diligent – what you do and how you do it. God warns clearly about zeal without knowledge. You can be diligent doing the wrong thing! The key to diligence is hearing and obeying. You need to know what He wants you to do, so you can walk in His grace and His way – of doing it. Praying that this year – you will become even more diligent with the joy that He gives – that God will draw you to fully know this precious possession. Praying that you will let His Word transform your mind in this area – see the PRISM Topic – Diligent. Praying that this year in your life – God will fully reward the desires of the diligent – because you hear and obey His voice in the joy that obedience brings. Praying that PiVAT, PRISM, and your Daily Call - will be your absolute commitment this year - so that His diligence will grow in you. PiVAT will tell you what God wants you to do, PRISM will confirm it and tell you how, and your Daily Call will help you overcome in the diligence of doing it. (God's thing, His Way with the grace that He provides). Praying that you will walk in this precious possession that He has given you - that you will be joyfully diligent - every day - so he can bring the desires He will place in you - to pass. Love you all, dad

Love you all, praying for you.
God wants you to marvel! Psalms 118:22-23 – The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone. The LORD has done this and it is marvelous in our eyes. God does things we wouldn’t expect. He uses things no-one would use. What’s rejected by man – is used mightily by God! What does God ever do that is not marvelous? Everything He does is marvelous! The God of excellence does everything with excellence. But what do your eyes see? Is it marvelous in your eyes? Marvel – a wonder that arrests the attention and causes a person to stand or gaze, or to pause, wonderfully exceeding. What He does is marvelous – is it marvelous in your eyes? Or do you miss it? Mangers aren’t marvelous – in the eyes of the world. But if you set your eyes on Him, if you see what He sees, if you love what He loves, if you submit to His ways – there will never be an end to the marvel you see. He’ll take failures and turn them into triumphs – He’ll take what is rejected, and make it required. He takes left-outs and left-overs and makes them the main course! He will get the glory. Just hear and obey and get ready for the marvelous. PiVAT, PRISM, and your Daily Call – is marvelous training. It teaches you to see what others don’t see. Your Conversation Log – is writing down what He says and what He does – it helps you see the marvelous. Overcoming with your testimony every day – on your Daily Call – doing what He says – so you can see what He does! The more you obey – the more you will see – the marvel of who He is and the marvelous things He does. Praying that you will train your eyes to marvel, that you will train your lips to speak of it, and obey every day – so He can bring more of it. Praying that He will do marvelous things in you – that will make others stop and stare. That they would see what God can do with those fully devoted to Him. Love you all, dad Love you all, praying for you.
God reminding me this morning about an important part of your relationship with God. Revisit. Every time He tells you something – write it down – You need a Conversation Log – and to be faithful in it. But the purpose is so you revisit. The more you revisit what He told you – the more you become it. When God speaks to you – it’s not to inform you – it’s to transform you. PiVAT and PRISM and your Daily Call – are mission-critical habits to your life – if you are going to accomplish His mission for you. Every time you do PiVAT and PRISM – He speaks. The more you invest that time listening to His voice – the more His voice becomes clear over the other voices competing for your ear. And when God speaks – the more you revisit, the more you become it. That’s why God told us to do a Daily Call – Hebrews 3:13 – when we exhort one other daily – it's a built-in revisit of what He told us to do, and our testimony of His goodness in the middle of our doing it! There’s fruit to obeying – you’re not Fearing God for nothing! Part of "to Fear Him" is to obey Him. And your Daily Call testimony of what He revealed - is that revisit of what He revealed so you remember it, and have it on your lips, to increase the probability of you walking in it - doing it over time - so you become it. God changes you by changing your mind, and changing your words - to His Words - which then produces a change in your actions, habits and character. That’s why PiVAT Weekly is so important – not just to ask Him and hear His plans for you for this coming week, but to remember – to revisit what He did and revealed as you obeyed Him last week. That’s why your PiVAT Small Group – with a few other obeyers like you – revisiters – testimony givers – helps you become the overcomers that He has created you to be. When you revisit God’s Word to you and your obedience and your testimony of what He did - every revisit of His Word – turns His information to you – into His instruction for you – in it. He doesn’t speak to inform you – He speaks to instruct you in the doing of it, the thinking like it, in the speaking it – so you become it. A recent Daily Huddle – was Open the Gates. God had me revisit. Sometimes God will have you go back and refine the takeaway – so you can run with it - better. I had always thought you enter his gates with thanksgiving and praise. That’s fully true, His word says it (Psalms 100:4) but I didn’t understand what the gates were - which made it clear that thanksgiving and praise wasn’t how you enter His gates. Thanksgiving and praise is what He told us to do AS we enter His gates. Open to me the gates of righteousness (Psalm 118:19) Is God opening to our understanding - what is that "right doing" that He wants us to walk in - because of our right standing (having accepted Christ – and committing our life to Him) The gates of righteousness are the gates of obedience. Open the gates – means open my understanding - Tell me what you want me to do - so I can do it! And then - David tells us - we do it always with thanksgiving and praise. Praise God - through your PiVAT before dinner, and before the week, month or year begins… He will tell you what to do. And through PRISM throughout the day - He will confirm what He told you, how you should do it, and how much He loves you. And your Daily Call of your testimony overcoming in it… is how Revelation becomes transformation, it's how Information becomes instruction in it, it's how Holy Spirit counsel becomes your character. Praying that God will always open the gates of righteousness to you – because you always go to Him in PiVAT and PRISM - His Word and in His Way for you. Praying that you will revisit every PRISM He gives you – that you will do it as often as He leads you. That your Daily Call, and your PiVAT Small Group – increases your REVISIT habit, and your Testimony Habit – so that every Good thing He has ordained for you – becomes the daily reality you walk in. Praying that this year you will visit Him daily, and revisit daily – walk with someone daily – and a group of obeyers weekly. So that everything He tells you – you tell yourself again and again - so you fully obey – and fully become... completely. Love you all, dad Love you all, praying for you.
Sometimes God’s Word is encouraging, sometimes it’s challenging, but it’s always love. Proverbs 28:18 – He whose walk is blameless is kept safe, but he whose ways are perverse will suddenly fall. What is blameless? That has kinda depressed me in the past. How can I ever be blameless? The moment you received Jesus as your Savior and committed your life to Him as your LORD. At that moment you were completely blameless. All of your sins were washed away by the sacrifice of Jesus. The blame that was yours – Jesus took on himself. So how do you keep walking and living a blameless life? Blameless is not sinless – if you were sinless – you wouldn’t need a Savior. If you never sinned again after receiving Christ – Scripture would never have encouraged us to "walk in the spirit – so you won’t fulfill the desires of your old nature." That means if you are walking according to your old nature – you aren’t living a blameless life. But if you are walking in the Spirit – under His direction – you are blameless before God. So how do you walk in the Spirit – so you walk blamelessly? Are you seeking Him for His will and His ways? Did you ask Him? Did you obey the last thing the Holy Spirit told you to do? Did you ask Him? PiVAT and PRISM and your Daily Call - are blameless practice. If you obeyed the last thing He told you - Keep doing it! You’re good til next time. Simple obedience to the next step He leads you in – this is the blameless life that God keeps safe, but more than that He increases and blesses that person with His abundance. But the one whose ways are perverse will suddenly fall. Perverse – to think differently than what He just told you. To say something different than what He just said - delaying obedience, which then never happens. Considering alternatives, rather than just obey before you delay. Suddenly isn’t really suddenly – your fall is coming. Delay obedience and your fall is coming – it will come suddenly because perverse lipped people don’t’ consider themselves disobedient. They just say something different (perverse) and in doing so, they negate their hearing so they negate their obeying. How quickly do you obey? That’s blameless. How often do you seek His way? His presence? That’s blameless. Praying that you will do PRISM consistently - to reveal His ways – and PiVAT before dinner – so you know the plans He has for you - so you can walk in them! Praying that you will overcome with one other in your Daily Call – so perverse words will be banished by praise and the testimony of your obedience. Praying that your simple obeying – will bring the joy of that blameless life that God protects and blesses with His abundance. Praying that you will always obey quickly – never say anything other than what He just said – so you do it without delay. He will lead you in the blameless and fully blessed life that He has already planned for you. He has joy waiting in every little step of obedience. His Good will chase you down – you will walk in the blessing that He has for you. Love you all, dad Love you all, praying for you.
PRISM just keeps amazing me. I just love when God lets you see something you’ve never quite seen before. He alters your perspective with His Word. He upsets the apple cart of your assumptions, changes how you view things. That’s what God does through your PRISM time – those five things you can do every day in His Word - He changes you! To change you - He first changes your mind. Psalms 118:19 – Open for me the gates of righteousness, I will enter and give thanks to the LORD. This is the gate of the LORD through which the righteous may enter. I will give you thanks, for you answered me; you have become my salvation. The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone; the LORD has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day the LORD has made let us rejoice and be glad in it. What a full passage. David is saying – I’m going to do this, you should do this too – let’s go! God’s Word always changes our perspective and in the same breath – invites us to change our behavior, our habits, so He can give the results – that we need, that He longs to give us. He wants to be our salvation – not just forever, but in this life right now - today. Open for me the gates of righteousness. I always thought righteousness was an impossible standard to achieve or maintain – as if the gates of a city are the final destination. But righteousness isn’t something to attain – it’s something to transition through to get to what’s inside! When you enter His gates – His righteousness- you enter God’s presence and His plans for you – you get to where He is – you get to hear what He says – what’s on His heart to do – and what’s in His heart for you. And everywhere He is – is every good thing you could ever want or need. In His gates, under His protection, in His house, where unending truth, love and blessing flows. Open for me… God is the one who opens the gates of righteousness. This is PRISM – when He reveals truth for you to walk in through His Word – He’s opening the gates of righteousness for you! You now have a choice – enter in, or stay on the outside; accept, or decline. Every time you enter His gates of righteousness – with thanksgiving and praise – you’re on the inside – where He is. If you choose unrighteousness – you choose to exit the gates – of His presence and His blessing. If you choose sin or disobedience, you leave. But inside those gates – it’s a different city, a different kingdom, a different kind of people live there – praisers and obeyers – the best people to be around anyway! Inside those gates, it’s a different economy, a different lifestyle. When the Queen of Sheba visited Solomon she noticed it - “How happy your servants must be.” Inside the gates of righteousness is where the blessed are, the favored of the LORD are... What is righteousness? I John 3:7 - Dear children, let no-one deceive you. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. Righteousness is right standing with God through Jesus - and also right doing. Doing what He says is right, not what the world says is right. The gates of Righteousness that He opens through His Word – it’s the invitation to enter. And you enter with Praise and Thanksgiving. Why because every time you obey what He says – it automatically results in Praise. The more you obey, the more He does, and you can’t help but praise. Praying that you would see righteousness not as an impossible standard, but an invitation – the gates to His presence where everything good awaits you. We are now the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus – not because of what we do, but because of what He did for us - that's the right standing - of righteousness. See the Relationship Topic - Salvation First. But when God opens through PRISM - His Word - those gates of righteousness – He shows us the next step - that's the right doing - of righteousness. It’s not a standard to reach – it’s a gate to enter. Praying that PRISM will open the gates for you – that PiVAT will let you enter that next step He tells you - with praise! Praying that you would overcome every day in your Daily Call. The City Gates are where the wise, the accomplished, the humble and successful - the persons of renown gather - inside those gates – the gates of righteousness – they are the praisers and the obeyers. They are the one with whom God wants you to overcome with daily. Praying that God will keep you in those gates – in the place where He is – and the place where He can give you all the good that He has stored up for you. Love you all, dad Love you all, praying for you.
God reminded me recently. Psalms 113:4 – The LORD is exalted over all the nations, his glory above the heavens. Who is like the LORD our God, the One who sits enthroned on high, who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth? Wow. Sometimes I don’t think we realize how big this guy really is! He is far higher than all the nations. They rise and fall on his whim from the time they are formed until the time He decides they are no more – never to rise again. From presidents to dictators, conquerors to judges, influencers, their terms of influence and power are allowed and limited by Him alone. He brings the wicked to nothing, but the righteous He establishes forever. He stoops down to occupy himself with heavens and earth, all that we can imagine is merely a kneel down and pause in His day… What is He doing the rest of the time? If He handles and controls heavens and earth when He stops and stoops down - what does He do when He is standing, or jumping, or running? He is exalted, lifted higher, way above every single thing great or small in heavens and earth. How much greater is yet to come in the new heaven and the new earth and all of eternity. Knowing the Controller of all of human history – does it by taking a break and stooping down… should be your joy and peace But more than that… He stoops down to help you! Psalm 18:35 - You give me your shield of victory, and your right hand sustains me; you stoop down to make me great. You broaden the path beneath me so that my ankles do not turn. Wow. What is it that you are facing right now? What is that you’re believing for right now? It’s nothing to Him – He stoops down to do it… like stopping to tie his shoe. He delights in showing Himself to you – His love and faithfulness. Praying that your Joy will be full, that you will believe that He is and He rewards you when you diligently seek him – His face, His Ways, His plans for you. Praying that obedience is your focus in loving Him. Praying that your obeying is making other obeyers – that’s what disciples do – they make more. Praying that PiVAT – His plans for you – and PRISM – His Understanding for you in them, and your Daily Call – overcoming in the way He commanded – with one other – daily – would let you see what He can do - by just stooping down. Praying that you will seek and walk daily in His good and perfect will for you – so His Kingdom, His story, and His glory become your heart’s desire, and what He produces in your life every day! There is nothing like the life He gives. Praying that you will praise and obey and walk with one other each day – so you will see – How Big He really is – when He stoops down – to make you great. Love you all, dad Love you all, praying for you.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior who is Christ the LORD. One Day Changes Everything. If you have ever had a baby – things are never the same in your family. Whether the firstborn or the baby of the family – things change. Praise God for every one. But this baby – changes everything - forever - for every family from now til the time this baby returns as King of Kings and LORD of LORDS. Every Christmas morning – kids are just waiting for Mom and Dad to wake up – they’ve been waiting for a while. They just can’t wait for the presents. All these gifts we give to those we love – it all started with the best Christmas morning ever. The gift that God himself gave to all the world. The gift of this baby – changes everything. Peace has come into the world – the Prince of Peace has come. Peace with God – that was impossible before – is reality now. The angel said this gift of the ages – of all of eternity – this gift is the Savior – He is Christ the LORD. Just like any gift – you only experience it if you open it. Gifts are optional. It’s in opening the gift – that you receive all that it is – and has for you. To open this gift you put your faith in the God who sent Him, the promise that was decided before the foundation of the world – that will take all of your sin – carry it on a cross – so you can live forever - forgiven - pure in the presence of God. And then - this gift - you use it every day. Praying that this morning is a reminder of the sacrifice of a Father, and the sacrifice of this Jesus – who gave up His life for yours. Praying that this year He will be your Savior - as never before. Not just the once and for all Savior, but the every-day Savior. Not just the LORD of all - but the LORD of you - of your every day. Praying that you will look to Him – not only for the relationship that has been made possible for you with God – as Savior - Forgiven; but that you would know Him more and more as Christ your LORD. This is the invitation – the gift to open. Receive Him as Savior, but live each day with Him as your LORD. Without opening and using this gift – you’re still living life like the gift didn’t come. It's like getting a brand new car for Christmas – but still driving your old rusted out one with the the broken heater and sagging headliner. No one would ever do that! Praying that you would drive with Him from now on... drive with Him driving – not you. Praying that PRISM throughout the day - lets you know Him as your Savior, and PiVAT before dinner every day lets you walk with Him as LORD. Praying that your Daily Call – this year has you walking with this best Christmas gift ever. So He leads you step by step - as LORD - thought by thought, and word by word – so you live in the Good that He has for you – so He can fulfill the purpose He created you for. This day changes everything. Your life in Him – is like no life you could ever imagine. Can’t wait to see what Jesus your Savior and Christ your LORD will do in you this year! Love you all, dad Love you all, praying for you.
Have you ever noticed F’s come in threes? Have you ever gotten an F on your report card? It means you failed - you did not meet the requirements to pass the course and escape the class. Failure is a big F. Have you noticed F’s come in threes. The first is failure, the second is fear. What are my parents going to say? I’ll probably get grounded for weeks! They’ll take away my xbox, my phone, that’s fear. What if can never pass algebra, or geometry or whatever class… I’ll never get into college! or Organic Chemistry, I’ll never get into Med School! These are F’s academically. With failure comes fear and the third is final. The devil wants to make you think that failure is final. It’s not – it just seems like it. Failure just means – change needed. The strategy or effort you put forth is insufficient for success. Failure is actually a gift from God – He doesn’t send it, but He allows it. He does it to let you know change is needed. Failure relationally comes in those same three F’s. He left me. She left me. What did I do wrong? That’s failure. Now I’m all alone. That’s fear. Will anyone ever marry me – or will I ever find someone who will be faithful to me? That’s final. Those F’s come in three’s. The worst failure is failure spiritually. It’s called sin – God’s Word says is means falling short of the mark. (God’s standard of Holiness). God said don’t, but I did anyway. God said do, but I didn't. What is going to happen? that’s fear – sin has consequence. Sometimes it has punishment – God’s chastisement – and correction. Will I ever be able to get this right? Will I be stuck in this sin forever? Will l ever recover from the scars of this? That’s the devil trying to make you think it’s final. For those stuck in the three F’s of sin… There is wonderful news. His Name is Jesus. God said - the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus. (See the Relationship Topic – Salvation First - it's Step #1 for recovering from failure). Praise God! Failure is not final! The only final thing is Jesus' death on the cross in your place! That’s final - a sacrifice made once for all. You have been set free! Admit your sin, Believe that He died in your place to cover it, and Commit your life to Him. From this point on – Give your time, thoughts, and money (in other words - your entire life) – to Him, to His control. From now on - He leads, you follow. What do you have to lose? Whatever you have to give up is garbage – worthless – compared to what you have to gain! God also has F’s – and they come in three’s. F Number 1 - Forgiveness – what you deserve – He took for you. What He deserves – He gives to you. See the PRISM Topic - Forgive – it is revelation. God’s Second F - is Faithfulness – sticking with you – never leaving you. He gives Grace to say "no" to the sin that once held you, and any sin that would present itself. You’re not a slave to it any longer! Grace is unmerited favor and Divine Power. Walk in the Spirit – and you’ll walk in grace. Psalms 32:8 - I will lead you in the way you should go, I will guide you with my eye upon you. He said He will lead you – That’s PiVAT – the first step to overcoming sin and walking in freedom – in the Holy Spirit - is to do what God tells you to do in this hour! That eliminates 90% of the sin that wants to trap you. PiVAT before dinner will help you - not just avoid sin – but walk in all the good that He has for you. He said He would guide you – that’s PRISM – He doesn’t just tell you what He has planned for you for today (in PiVAT) – He guides you in the best reasons why and specifically how to do it! PRISM – those five things you can do in His Word every day – It transforms you! Your Daily Call (Hebrews 3:13) – just obeying God’s Word to exhort one other – daily. This is your overcoming – Failure is past, Fear is gone, and the only thing that’s Final – is His Faithfulness - That’s God’s Third F – Forever. His Forgiveness and His Faithfulness are Forever - God's three F's. He will never leave you, He will never forsake you, He will finish what He started, He will fulfill the purpose He has for you! You can be sure of it - He promised. Praying that if you haven’t – you will fully commit your life to Jesus. Praying you will live in PiVAT before dinner, PRISM throughout the day - to know His love for you - and your Daily Call in the morning, overcoming in the victory He has for you. And praying that you will do these things with others each week – in a PiVAT Small Group – that gives you encouragement and inspiration. What the devil wanted for Failure, Fear, and Final, God will turn into Forgiveness and Faithfulness Forever. Ask Him! Whether you need forgiveness, the removal of fear, His faithfulness or what to do from here, or confident hope in His good for you - forever. Praying that obeying will be the joy of your life – in His presence, according to His will – in His perfect timing. Praying that you will walk with others – so they too - can exchange those other F’s for His. Love you all, dad Love you all, praying for you.
One of my favorite football players from around 2015-2020 is Wes Welker. With no disrespect to him at all – at first glance he’s just not what you’d expect to be dominant player. He’s not impressive of size, or stature, or speed. The only thing impressive about him physically is his beard… now that’s pretty impressive. But He’s not the greatest athlete… He works hard but lots of people do. What makes him so good? His precision – and his relationship with his quarterback. (Yes, Tom Brady throwing to you doesn’t hurt – I get it) but with Wes Welker his routes are precise. He is a great route runner! The quarterback knows exactly where he is going to be and can put the ball there – before he arrives knowing that he will be there to take it and run with it. It’s not like Gronk, or Randy Moss – not saying they didn’t run good routes – but those guys were awesome. Just throw the ball up higher than everyone else – and they will jump up fifty feet in the air and come down with it - no human is up that high. But with Wes Welker – a guy if you saw him on the street – you would never think – “that looks like a Super Bowl game changer.” I kinda like guys like that – it just gives the rest of us a little hope. Now a sportscaster – Randy Moss has clips of defensive backs getting torched on great plays. “You just got Mossed!” Side note - that’s’ a little uncomfortable for me – I never was a trash talker. I realize it’s a commonly accepted practice – some even feel it’s a necessary ingredient for success – I just go back the that success book written centuries before American Football was even invented. “Let another praise you, not your own mouth, someone else and not your own lips.” God says He opposes the proud and gives grace to the humble. I’ll take that any day. So what if you aren’t a Gronk or a Moss. What if you’re more like a Welker in life stature. What’s the best policy or strategy for you? Run great routes. A great route in life - is simply obedience, strict attention to detail, precision. Doing what God told you to do, when He told you to do it – in the joy and energy that He gives! You can work on your athleticism – you might accomplish minor gains with much work – but the cap is short. Skill however, the cap is much higher. Would you rather be skilled or athletic? I’d rather be both – but it is what it is, so developing skill has the greatest upside. When it comes to true success in life – the skill you need most is obedience. More specifically – precision in obedience, exactness... like it was drawn up. Exactly what God told you – no deviations – or the ball will get there before you arrive. God spoke to me recently about precision on my Daily Call. He said – don’t share your answers without the specific question. When sharing PiVAT for today with my Daily Call Partner – sometimes for the sake of time – I was tempted to shorten the wording of these God-given questions of PiVAT. I guess that’s kind like skipping the route and just going straight to the location of the ball… skipping the fakes, the footwork which gets the defender off balance so I can arrive at the delivery point of the ball with a step on my defender – not with him draped over me. God reminded me when sharing PiVAT on my Daily Call – Be precise with the PiVAT Question – it means something. Before you share your PiVAT answers – Share the Specific Question first. That first Question of PiVAT – What Do You Need Most From God Today? If I shorten it to just say “my prayer for today” – or “my vision for today.” I know we know what it means – but those words actually mean something different – the importance is lost in the translation. It’s really not my prayer for today or my vision for today – It’s His Prayer for me – What do you need most from God today? – I have to ask Him – I don’t really know – I’ve got an opinion… but the whole point is getting His opinion and going with that… not mine. Rather than "my vision for today" - stating the real PiVAT Question before my answer – What is the Number 1 Thing God is telling you to do today? and for Accountability – “When is He telling You To Do It? - the specific time?" God just reminded me on Daily Calls - stating the question before the answer He gave me – is really helping me work on my precision. When it comes to walking with God – or running with Him – I want to be a good route runner. It’s funny we want to hear from God the earth-shattering, mountain moving revelations that make us feel like we really heard from Him today. But sometimes He just tells us simple reminders – those seemingly insignificant details – that can make all the difference. Praying that you are overcoming in your Daily Call – Praying that every time you do PiVAT before dinner you aren’t just filling in the answers – but asking God for His! And praying for you - that in every Daily Call – you take the couple extra seconds to state the specially worded question – that reinforces His Ways which are so different and so much higher than ours. Praying that not just in PiVAT before dinner, and Daily Calls – but in everything He reveals for you to do - that you will be so precise – that you will run great routes when it comes to obeying Him. That’s where the joy is! So you can run in all the Good He has for you! Love you all, dad Love you all, praying for you.
Have you ever dreamed of writing a book someday? Maybe you have a few ideas, or know generally what it would be about. Or maybe that’s just something you would love to be able to do someday. God is like that… only He has already written it. The book is you! You are the book already written! It’s the story of your life – the things God has already planned beforehand that you should walk in. Ephesians 2:10 - For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Oh you gotta know – this book of you - is a classic! Psalms 139:16 - Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. This book is really, really good! Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you hope and a future. He even said He will fulfill the purpose He has for you - He won't abandon the work of His hands (Psalms 138:8). That means you can trust Him! But there is something a little different about this book. While it is already written – it can be changed, altered. Have you ever heard of a famous book or movie that originally had a different ending? Someone – or someone(s)… producers, publishers, sponsors decided that another ending would be better. That’s the case with your book. It’s written already – but you can change it if you write something different than the author intended. What’s different than the author intended? Most people change their book without realizing they are doing it. They do it often out of ignorance more than intention. They don't even realize how good their book can be? The key to your story is the Holy Spirit - the One who knows the mind of the Author and delivers it to you. That’s why God gave PiVAT before dinner. This is the writing of your book - the change of direction – from your writing to His writing - where you ask the Holy Spirit - and He writes what God planned for you. PiVAT before dinner helps you see the next page of the book as He has written it. PiVAT Weekly lets you see glimpses of the next chapter as He has written it – so you can walk out the pages. But with this book – the book of you… it requires faith. First – that He is, and He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Second, faith that it was really His voice that you heard when you asked Him His plans for you for tomorrow in your PiVAT before dinner, or PiVAT for the week. And Third – faith that He is Good and has good for you… that you can trust His writing of your story – that it is way better than your version – as high as the heavens are above the earth. Faith is really… just thinking, speaking, and acting like what He promised has already, or will with 100% certainty – come true. Faith with this book – means you do what He says. PRISM – will help you understand it – His written Words to you in Scripture – help you fill in your pages. It's your how to and why to, and gives you the wisdom and insight – the view from the inside of the mind and heart of the author – who is your Heavenly Father. He loves you completely and everything He does for His glory – is without exception - for your best good! This is quite a book – this book of you. Praying that PiVAT before dinner is your never miss habit, that PRISM – those 5 things you can do in His Word every day – becomes your priority - really, an addiction... and that your Daily Call – that direct obedience to His Hebrews 3:13 command to 'exhort one another daily' – gives you the venue for your overcoming testimony that keeps you walking in the pages He has written. Praying that you will always walk with someone – growing in daily obedience together, and praying that you will invest in the lives - those written pages of others – through a PiVAT Small Group. This is where you get to read more than one great story. And more than a book club which reviews books already inked, this PiVAT Small Group book club can powerfully help each person God sends you – walk in the pages of joy and blessing and the significantly fruitful life that He has written for them. Do you want to hear something crazy? Your story - that book of you already written (if you will let the Holy Spirit lead you in it)... is really only just a short chapter in a book of short stories - His-Story - the book of the History, Present and Future of The Almighty - The One True Living, and Loving God. He created you for such a time as this - your life's story is critical in this part of the book just like all those He will send to you - to help them walk in their pages. It will add to His fame, His renown, His Great Name. And your chapter is so good! Praying that God will use you to impact many books, many chapters - of this greatest book of all time. It's the entire story of His great love and faithfulness! His love is great, and His faithfulness endures for ever! Praise God - when you just trust and obey - you are living what He is writing! Love you all, dad |
