Love you all, praying for you,
I just love God’s Word, it doesn’t just give principles, it gives reasons, and how to’s. It gives cause and effect. It gives instruction for results. It reveals the character and nature of God – the Creator and the Sustainer of every living thing! Psalms 119:76 - May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant. Let your compassion come to me that I may live, for your law is my delight. God’s deep, deep love for you; His tender-hearted mercy and compassion, His kindness that stoops down to help you - and make you great; that makes Him engage His infinite power in your situation for your benefit; the things He does on your behalf – just because He loves you. They are so many, and they are all a comfort. Every time you see the demonstration of His love – it's a comfort to you. That’s why PiVAT is so important – it focuses you not just on His plans for you – which are so very good, it focuses you on recounting your testimony – what His loving kindness did on your behalf. His comfort – not just solace, not just salve, not just a pain remover – but a hope giver, a restorer, a strengthener, and a propeller. But also knowing that His love, His tender loving-kindness towards you never fails, it doesn’t wane, it doesn’t run short, or run out. He doesn’t forget, or neglect, He never gets distracted from showing you kindness, by other things… His loving kindness for you is a constant – it never lessens – it only continues and increases. It’s His promise to those who serve Him – who come under His authority - not the authority of other things, persons or ideas. Those who run to Him for help, not other people, or things, or trying to figure it all out in their own strength. The fact that His love is unfailing because He promised, and I am always living proof – gives me comfort. Not just condolence, but confidence. His unfailing love for you comes alongside you to strengthen you. His Holy Spirit is proof of His unfailing love – in case the thousands of examples in your life wouldn’t be sufficient. Because His love for you is unfailing – you can look forward, not backward, you can look to the future – you’re set free from the past. David knew - when God's compassion comes, you live! Not just survive, but thrive! Not just survive but succeed. To live in Him is not just life, it is abundant life – life more abundantly, more and more. It doesn’t matter what situation you are in. His compassions never fail, His mercies for you are new every morning – His faithfulness at night. And what draws His compassions? what attracts His loving kindness? "for your law is my delight." That word for - is a connector word - it reveals cause and effect relationship between things. By reason of, because of. You clearly cannot do anything to earn His unfailing love - it's unfailing. But David said "God - may your compassions come to me - for (because) I delight in your Word. God’s Word was his delight - his greatest desire - and the greatest influence in his life, it molded him. (David never missed PRISM – he came back to it, he meditated on it, he focused on God’s Word and committed himself with his mouth to obey it. It’s what made him a servant, a man after God’s own heart – it’s what made him do what God wanted him to do. It’s what gives you the abundant life that draws God’s unfailing love to you. His love does not fail – no matter what you do. Lost sheep still get pursued. But those who love His Word, and obey immediately – don’t just get pursued, they get propelled. I’d rather be propelled than pursued. Pursued means He’s coming after you – praise God. But propelled means He’s right with you, He's right behind you, He's directing you, leading you, guiding you, helping you! Praying that your PRISM is attracting more of His compassion, praying that your PIVAT is positioning you for it, and that your Daily Call is helping you recognize it – and overcoming you in it. Praying that His Word is your delight so your life can be the abundant life - that He died so you could live! Love you all, dad
